Pike flies Highlands flag for Southern

31 Oct, 2008 10:32 AM
THE Southern Zone under-17s had a flawless weekend at the Southern carnival at Cowra.

Wingello Tiger Cameron Pike flew the Highlands flag as Southern won all three games to take out carnival honours.

Following their dominant performance, six players were selected to play Northern Country at Bradman Oval this Sunday.

Unfortunately, Pike didn’t gain selection.

Southern beat Riverina by six wickets in their first game with Pike taking 1-13. They then accounted for Western by six wickets with Pike only getting a brief spell to finish with 0-13 off three overs.

In the final game, Pike finally got a bat and made 10 runs before finishing with 0-25 in Southern’s 32-run win over Illawarra.
