Mossy in hunt for semi-finals

MOSS VALE have a third grade semi-finals berth within their grasp after a seven wicket win over a depleted Picton side on Saturday.

With only five players turning up to Lackey Park to play, Picton had to borrow a few players from Moss Vale to get on the field.

The Magpies were dismissed for 136 off 25 overs.

Kevin Hill and Nathan Sams both picked up three wickets, while Brad Larter and Tim Sykes also claimed a wicket each.

Moss Vale then followed up with some impressive batting to chase down the total in jut 15.4 overs to finish their innings at 3-140.

Jack Webb led the way with an unbeaten 60, while Hill again came good for Moss Vale with a solid 47.

Sams was dismissed for 14 and Elliot Esquilant remained unbeaten on 12 at the end of the innings along with Webb.

Moss Vale sit fourth on the ladder while Picton look set to take out the wooden spoon.
