ROBERTTSON-Burrawang’s first graders bounced back from back-to-back losses with an easy 101-run win over Coolavin at Chater Oval on Saturday.
With all round nine games reduced to one-dayers, Robertson posted 9-207 off their 40 overs. Club president Aaron de Jager (87) and Steve Fairbairn (33) put on a 93-run sixth wicket partnership to put Robertson in a commanding position after they were 5-84 in the 19th over. Tailenders Damian Gair and Mark Bisby both hit 10 as the home team made it passed 200.
Coolavin skipper Ben Haynes bowled a great spell to finish with 4-22, while Nick Prell (2-32) and Brian Roberts (2-54) also struck.
The visitors were bundled out for 106 in 26 overs with Ben Buffett the destroyer taking 5-24. Gair, in his first game for the Spuds this summer, picked up 3-17, while Matt Hammond got 1-34.
Mitch Wright bowled tightly, in his first spell after a rib cartilage injury, but finished wicketless with 0-14. Coolavin were never in the game and stumbled from 4-44 to 8-87.
