ANOTHER strong batting innings handed Jemmy Moss its eighth straight victory with a 85-run win over the Moss Vale Rovers at Lackey Park on Saturday.
Jemmy skipper Andrew won the toss and elected to bat. Despite missing several players Aiden Swanson (52) set the tone early with a blistering half-century. Kevin Parsons (3) was run out following some brillant fielding from Justin Woodgate and soon Jemmy was 2-36.
Hore (53) and Swanson blasted a 68-run stand from just 26 balls before Swanson fell to the catch of the year by Andrew Lawson. Lawson made a full-stretch horizontal dive at deep mid-wicket into a fierce wind to dismiss the dangerman.
Ryan Maughan (41) and Mitch Conquest (15) continued the onslaught with a 45-run partnership and Greg Fox added 38 as Jemmy posted 242.
Nick Hill (3-49) and Reece Woods (2-27) bowled well, while Justin Bradley (1-55), Woodgate (1-41) and Zac Clewett (1-31) had a tougher time.
The Rovers needed to make inroads early on, requiring six an over, but Jemmy’s bowlers gave them no reprieve.
