 Colt kept in stable

Colt kept in stable

30 Jan, 2009 10:03 AM
HILL Top first grader Simon Reid said he was disappointed he was not given more opportunities when playing for Southern Zone at the Country Colts Carnival last weekend.

Usually an opening batsmen, Reid was a late inclusion in the Southern Zone squad that played at Maitland and Raymond Terrace over the weekend, but was not selected to play the first match and was selected to bat at number seven for the second.

Despite being the leading runscorer in the Southern Zone Jeffery Cup earlier this season, with 194 runs at an average of 92, the Southern Zone selectors could not find a place for him in the batting order until the second game, when he scored 18.

Reid said he was hopeful of another chance and more opportunities next year.

ā€œI’m still eligible for the team for two more years, so hopefully they will pick me and I will be available to play,ā€ Reid said.
