Bowral fall short

17 Oct, 2007 03:53 PM
The first grade Workers cricket team handed Bowral their third loss in as many years at Kenmore Oval in Goulburn on Saturday.

The defending one-day titleholders were unable to reach the Workers score of 7-190 off 37 overs.

Bowral limped to 4-166 in reply.

Workers' captain Marc Rudd won the toss and elected to bat.

Kenmore is giant ground that is only half a metre smaller than the MCG, making boundaries hard to come by.

Workers' openers Rudd and Shaun Hayes made short work of Bowral's attack, putting on 94 runs for the first wicket.
