NSW Fire Brigades (NSWFB) will roll up the station doors to the public on Sunday, from 10am to 2pm.
Bowral station commander Kieran Britt said the open day is a chance for firefighters to show the public what they do.
“It is also a chance for the public to meet the firefighters,” he said.
The open day is aimed at increasing people’s understanding of fire safety in the home, and coincides with the first day of winter.
Winter months are the worst time for home fires, and residents need to learn about making a fire escape plan, the need for smoke alarms and safety precautions to keep their family safe.
The fire station is also a big drawcard for the kids, and they will be able to look over all the equipment on a fire truck and even sit behind the wheel.
