AUSTRALIA’S biggest coffee celebrity, Scottie Callaghan, will be sharing his skills during a weekend of courses in Robertson next month.
On Friday, August 15, the 2007 Australian Barista Champion will be holding an industry training session for professionals interested in revamping their skills, with a session for home coffee enthusiasts to be held the following afternoon.
“Friday night will be very in-depth, focusing mainly on barista skills but also on coffee knowledge,” Mr Callaghan said.
“It’s often difficult for café/restaurant owners to choose which coffee company to go with so I tell them what to look for in a company, share my knowledge about the companies I’ve worked with and help them make an informed decision.
“On the Saturday I’ll be showing people how they can get a better coffee at home with limited effort while keeping to a budget.”
Then on the Saturday night, August 16, the Robertson Cheese Factory have organised a three course dinner, including a cheese education session, with local produce provided by Small Cow Farm.
