A Mittagong woman will celebrate the new year in fine style after claiming her share of Lotto's $30 million prize draw.
The winner, who wishes not to be named, will receive a $1,153,846.16 share of the prize pool after she purchased her winning ticket from Mittagong Newsagency.
Mittagong Newsagency owners Craig and Jenny Boyd said they were delighted when the local lady came into the store to claim her prize.
"She's a regular customer of ours so we were excited it was won by someone we knew," Mr Boyd said.
"She'd watched the draw so when she came in she knew she'd won it, but she didn't know how much.
"Needless to say, she was very happy when she found out she'd won a million."
Mr Boyd said the winner planned to use the money to help out her family.
And while the resident enjoys her winnings, the Boyds plan to enjoy the boost in trade that comes from selling a million-dollar ticket.
"It's the first million dollar ticket we've sold in about 10 years...and it's the biggest individual win we've had," Mr Boyd said.
"Every shop has its turn (at selling a winning ticket), and we'll enjoy the fact that it's ours for now."
