Wingecarribee Council will conduct essential repairs on sewerage system

18 Mar, 2010 02:15 PM
WINGECARRIBEE Council has advised that essential repairs will be made to sewer infrastructure on Tuesday in the vicinity of Iron Mines Oval, Mittagong.

Director of infrastructure services Michael Brearley said the Iron Mines Oval precinct will be closed to the public during the work as the operation will involve deep excavations and tanker truck movements in and out of the area.

“Customers in the Mittagong area are requested to reduce usage of their sewerage system during the day (early morning to noon), as a reduced flow will help ensure a quick return to service of the infrastructure” he said.

“If residents can think twice before flushing or put off using their dishwasher and washing machine to the afternoon, we would really appreciate it.”

The work is being undertaken to ensure the continual and effective operation of sewerage services and the cooperation of affected customers will be much appreciated.

Any enquiries about the project can be directed to the reticulation coordinator, Dirk Jol, 4872 5001.
