The Moss Vale Greyhound Racing Club had failed to comply with the terms and conditions of its lease for the past six years, president of the Moss Vale Show Society Cheryl Pittolo said yesterday.
After two days of silence, the Show Society released its reasons for evicting the greyhound club from the showground after 71 years of Saturday race meetings.
Moss Vale will host its last greyhound meeting on September 30.
Greyhound race club secretary Des Bentley said the eviction came as a shock. He said the club had had no consultation with the Show Society over the matter.
