Water groups seek federal intervention

Southern Highlands and Shoalhaven community groups have asked the Federal Government to intervene in State Government plans for the Kangaloon borefield and extra water transfers from the Shoalhaven River.

Save Water Alliance members Phil Herd and Cr Larry Whipper were part of a delegation from Wingecarribee and the Shoalhaven who met with Minister for Environment Ian Campbell and Parliamentary Secretary for Water in Canberra on Monday.

Member for Gilmore Joanna Gash, Member for South Coast Shelley Hancock and Liberal candidate for Kiama Ann Sudmalis led the delegation, which also included members of the Shoalhaven River Alliance.
