Water: Council may pay

30 Jan, 2007 05:28 PM
Wingecarribee Shire Council is set to back down on its refusal to pay its Sydney Catchment Authority water bill in protest at the State Government's Kangaloon borefield plan.

Council voted in December to refuse to pay the SCA water bill until all the ramifications of the borefield for the shire were known and called on other councils to join the boycott.

Councillors Malcolm Murray, Duncan Gair and Phil Yeo, who opposed the original motion, have put forward a rescission motion to be considered at today's meeting.
