Bowral Chamber of Commerce and Industry has dropped its attempt to remove Maureen Varnavsky as chamber president.
A special general meeting to resolve the dispute over chamber leadership was to have been held tomorrow, but was cancelled yesterday.
Bowral Chamber of Commerce executive members asked Ms Varnavsky to step down last month after she publicly expressed support for independent candidate for Goulburn Paul Stephenson.
The special general meeting was called after Ms Varnavsky received legal advice that she could only be removed from office by a vote of members.
The chamber has issued a statement that "it has been agreed to undertake a review of the constitution of the chamber and put in place any controls necessary to ensure that the recent communication issues between the president and the committee do not re-occur".
