Train improvements almost on track

Cleaner trains, better timetables, and improved reliability - these are some of the planned improvements to Southern Highlands train services.

Representatives from RailCorp, Bill Cowan and Alan Thompson, met last Thursday with local Southern Highlands Rail User Group (SHRUG) members Dell Dempster, Carl Davies and Graham Leech.

They discussed the future of local rail services including train cleanliness, carriage refurbishment, timetables and customer service levels.

SHRUG representative Dell Dempster said the meeting had left her hopeful that improved service was not far away.

"Although RailCorp has not promised anything specifically we have reason to believe that our train service will improve following the meeting," she said.
