AN ELDERLY driver may have received some divine intervention on Sunday after escaping injury when her car crashed into a block of units next to St Andrews Presbyterian Church.
Police said the woman was attempting to park her car in the carpark of the church when the vehicle reversed through a timber fence and continued on through the brick wall of a garage at 25 Merrigang Street.
No one was present in the units at the time of the incident which occurred at about 8.30am on Sunday.
Police, Ambulance, SES and the Bowral Fire Department attended the scene and the driver of the vehicle was shaken but not hurt.
She later moved into the church and was comforted by friends.
The units were being managed by Highlands Property and the owner had not been available for contact at the time of going to press.
Police were investigating the incident.
