Stray cats running wild

In the past month Welby resident Joan Fallon (pictured) has witnessed four cats in her care be put down.

All were found as strays around her home a stone's throw from bushland, some with abscesses and others with injuries from cars.

According to Ms Fallon, an increasing number of cats are being dumped or going stray in the area, and she is imploring Wingecarribee Council to address the problem.

"We need some help out here with the cat situation," Ms Fallon said.

"We can get the rangers to pick up the dogs, but the cats, nobody wants to deal with them.

"What am I supposed to do?" she asked.
