25 May, 2006 04:56 PM
The driver of a semi-trailer that smashed through a police road blockade and killed a 73-year-old man at Yanderra on Wednesday morning is yet to be charged by police.

Police expect to interview the driver in the next few days after he hit two parked police cars on the Hume Highway at 4am, instantly killing Brunswick Heads resident Dave Barker.

The father of three and grandfather of seven died from massive head injuries when he became pinned between a crushed police paddy wagon and a tow truck.

Police had been attending a car accident Mr Barker was involved in on the Hume Highway at the time the crash occurred.
