THE former Rudolph Steiner School in Bowral is slowly returning to life as more community groups take out leases.
One of its newest tenants of the property, now the Kazcare Education Facility, will be artist Margo Carlon with her weekly beginners drawing class.
A practising artist, Ms Carlon said she had heard a lot of people who admired her work say they wished they could paint or draw but didn’t know how.
So she decided to share her skills so that others could have the opportunity to unleash their creativity too.
“I see my role as not just an educator but as a nurturer who builds confidence in the students,” Ms Carlon said.
“When I was studying, there was a man in my class who had a very unique style but because it was different to everyone else’s, he thought he was rubbish.
“If only someone had encouraged him and made him realise how talented he was, he wouldn’t have quit.”
Determined not to make the same mistake with her own students, Carlon said her classes focused on fun and helping people to discover their own style.
“With a bit of encouragement and the right instruction anyone can draw,” she said.
Monday classes run from 9.30am-1.30pm at the Kazcare Education Facility, Kirkham Road, Bowral. Phone Margo Carlon on 0415 150 947.
