The RTAhas cut down most of the 97 trees marked for destruction in Kangaroo Valley, but cannot say when work would be completed and when the road will be open to full public use again.
On Monday, the RTA began work to remove 97 trees along the road to enhance visibility for drivers. Workers met stiff opposition from local residents.
A RTA spokesperson said the roadworks would also improve the safety standards at the intersection of Moss Vale Road and Kangaroo Valley Road.
"The roadworks include a dedicated left turn for eastbound vehicles to allow them to slow down clear of the through traffic," the spokesperson said.
