THE atmosphere was buzzing as 5000 concert goers descended on Centennial Vineyard yesterday to sing along with a first-class line up of performers for the first A Day on the Green concert of 2010.
Kicking off the show was 2006 Australian Idol winner Damien Leith, who had the crowd hooked and swaying from the moment he took to the stage with friendly Irish banter and a string of hits from his latest album, Remember June.
To reinforce the Irish atmosphere of the day, Leith was accompanied by a traditional tin whistle followed by an impromptu Irish jig, much to the delight of the fans.
Next up was pop star Tine Arena, who took to the stage amid loud cheers and whistles. She captivated the crowd with a powerful delivery of hits from her early career to the present.
Finally, headliner Ronan Keating ran onto the stage, causing the vineyard to erupt as the crowd stood on their feet to give a true blue Aussie welcome to the Irish superstar.
Running through the crowd, Keating shook hands, signed photos and covers, stealing the show with his Irish charm and a string of hits to back it up.
