Southern Highlands shooters have welcomed plans to locate a new regional rifle range at Hill Top.
Seven clubs have combined with the NSW Department of Arts, Sport and Recreation to develop the range near the existing Hill Top rifle range.
Most of these clubs don't have a dedicated range of their own or are facing possible closure as their leases on existing ranges expire.
A Department of Arts, Sport and Recreation spokeswoman said the construction of the Hill Top rifle range specifically for a number of local clubs was part of their aim to support joint use of facilities.
