Reduced council will have nine seats up for grabs this September

AT least 40 candidates will stand for the nine seats available on a reduced Wingecarribee Shire Council at this year’s elections.

It was a busy weekend for candidate introductions with Liberal, Labor and the Greens all launching their campaigns for the Wingecarribee Shire Council elections - making it all systems go for September.

Former State Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources Craig Knowles launched the Labor team of Graham McLaughlin, Jane Merriman, Ann Parker, William Taylor and Clinton Demkin at a baerbecue event on Saturday.

Member for Goulburn Pru Goward launched the Liberal team of Juliet Arkwright, David Stranger, Ken Street, Peter Jenkins and Dianne Horsley on Sunday.

Cr Jim Clark also announced this week that he would stand for re-election for Greens in the coming election.
