The average Wingecarribee Shire ratepayer will pay an extra $1.09 a week - or $56.89 a year - in rates and charges if a proposed 9.5 per cent rate increase for 2007/08 is approved.
Wingecarribee Shire Council has begun public consultation on a proposal to increase rates by 6 per cent above the rate pegging limit of 3.5 per cent for the next five years.
