Rail bridge compromise

27 Jun, 2007 09:32 AM
Rail Corporation has re-opened both lanes of the Kirkham Road/Station Street rail overbridge in Bowral to light vehicles only.

The move follows complaints from motorists and Wingecarribee Shire Council about traffic congestion and long delays caused by the closure of one lane of traffic last week.

The lane was closed last week while lifts were installed between the overbridge and the railway platform.

Rail Corporation had previously rejected council's advice that the traffic plan was unacceptable.
