A council discussion paper on the Bowral Country Club Golf Course will be released to the public before a workshop to be held on Tuesday.
Wingecarribee Shire Council voted on Wednesday to release the paper following a notice of motion from Cr Duncan Gair.
Council’s parks and property department prepared the paper as background for a councillors’ information session when the Bowral Country Golf Club, the lessee of the council-owned course, was placed in the hands of an administrator.
The club had put forward a proposal to transfer the long-term lease of course to Bowral Country Club owner John Uliana if the administrator did not continue the lease.
The Bowral Country Golf Club administrator is maintaining the club’s long-term lease on the course, which still has 11 years to run.
Cr Gair said as the paper did not contain information of a confidential nature or information which would confer a commercial advantage it should be released to the public.
But other councillors were concerned the information in the paper could be taken out of context if read in isolation from the plan of management.
