Tomorrow the centre will celebrate the anniversary with a party at Yerrinbool Community Hall that is open to the public from 2pm.
With a magician, local musician Nicholas Potts, vocalist Helen Archer, children’s activity stations, possible face painting and afternoon tea, there will be a little something for everyone.
But what this party means to KU Northern Villages Mobile Preschool director Kim Overall is a chance to acknowledge the contribution the preschool has made to local residents who couldn’t access public transport.
The school ran in Colo Vale and Hill Top over the years, but now operates in Yerrinbool on Tuesday and New Berrima on Wednesday and Thursday, unpacking the van full of toys and learning equipment in local halls each day.
Long-standing worker Joey Hogarth has been with the preschool for 20 years, staying on to help after her son finished at the preschool.
“It’s just being able to teach the kids and to play with the children,” she said.
“I never thought I’d end up working with children, but I never looked back.”
The KU Northern Villages Mobile Preschool party is on tomorrow from 2pm at Yerrinbool Community Hall.
