Taxi driver held up
POLICE are investigating after a taxi driver was held-up at gun point in Exeter. The 59-year-old male taxi driver was called to a job at Exeter Road at about 11.45pm on February 13 where a man entered the taxi armed with a shotgun. Police said the man threatened the driver with the gun and told him to drive the taxi north. The armed man got out of the taxi at Exeter Oval and took an amount of cash before leaving the taxi. The man has been described as 180cm tall with a solid build, 30 to 40-years-old and was wearing a dark coloured beanie or balaclava at the time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Bowral Police Station on 4862 9299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Alarm deters thieves
A SECURITY alarm is believed to have prevented a break and enter in Moss Vale. Police said the alarm was activated after unknown offender/s smashed the window of a Moss Vale restaurant at about 10.30pm on February 12. No offender/s were found at the scene and investigations are continuing.

Closing ignored
A BOWRAL man will appear in court after he allegedly tried to enter a licensed premises when it was closing for the night. Police said the 38-year-old attempted to enter the hotel but the doors were locked and he was refused by staff at about 11.40pm on February 11. After being refused entry, the man allegedly punched a front window of the hotel, which shattered. He will face Moss Vale Local Court on a yet to be determined date.

Attack witnesses needed
POLICE have seized CCTV footage after a 34-year-old man was attacked by an unknown man. The 34-year-old was in the beer garden of a Bong Bong Street licensed premises at about 12.30am on February 11 when the incident occurred. Police said the man was set upon in what appeared on CCTV footage to be an unprovoked attack. The 34-year-old was taken to Bowral Hospital where he received a number of stitches in his face. Police are appealing for any witnesses to the event, or anyone with any knowledge of the unknown offender to contact Bowral Police Station on 4862 9299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Fined for 161km/h
A BRITISH national was fined after he was recorded travelling 161km/h on the Hume Highway near Mittagong. Police said the 27-year-old was stopped by Mittagong Highway Patrol at about 11.45am on February 12.
