Southern Highlands motorists can expect to pay more than $1.50 a litre for petrol, perhaps within the next week.
Prices are expected to hit $1.50 a litre in capital cities soon, according to Commsec equities economist Martin Arnold in Sydney.
Petrol is now at a nine-month high with capital city motorists now paying an average of about $1.25 to $1.30 a litre.
In the Southern Highlands yesterday, the price averaged more than $1.35.
