Overgrown Hill Top roads danger to pedestrians

21 Aug, 2007 05:39 PM
Hill Top resident John Schweitzer believes it's only a matter of time until a child is seriously injured or killed due to overgrowth on the side of the town's roads.

Wattle trees and other native vegetation is growing out of control on the side of the roads at Darlington Drive and Elizabeth Way and throughout Hill Top, and Mr Schweitzer said the overgrowth is dangerous for both pedestrians and motorists.

"The major issue is that it's a hazard to motorists and pedestrians with trees and bushes blocking the view of drivers and causing pedestrians to walk on the road," he said.

"There are also issues such as high fire danger, and wildlife."
