Ooh, aah family McGrath makes Bowral blush

One figure stood out in Corbett Gardens on Friday morning, and not only because of his height.

Retired fast bowler Glenn McGrath patiently signed his autograph for dozens of fans, eager to meet their hero.

But for once, cricket took a back seat for the cricket legend.

Glenn was in Bowral with his wife Jane McGrath, to raise awareness of breast cancer through the McGrath Foundation, which is being supported by Tulip Time this year.

Jane, whose diminutive figure hides the inner strength that allowed her to overcome breast cancer, also found herself swamped by admirers and fans.

She and Glenn opened Tulip Time and appeared on the Today show with Steve Jacobs.

Glenn said he and Jane were astounded at the public response to the McGrath Foundation.

“I’m a country boy myself, and it’s just great to come here to the Southern Highlands for Tulip Time,” Glenn said.
