New Year's Eve busy time for local villages

29 Dec, 2006 09:36 AM
While most pubs in Bowral and Moss Vale are closing at the usual times, pubs in Robertson and Sutton Forest are gearing up for a big night.

Sutton Forest Inn manager Bill Boyle said New Year's Eve was one of the pub's biggest nights of the year.

"We expecting a big crowd, 1000 plus people," he said.

The pub runs a shuttle bus service from Mittagong Railway station, the Bowral's Boolwey Street bus stop and the Moss Vale Courthouse hourly from 6pm until 11pm and returns from 12.30am.

Mr Boyle said they will have bands playing until 2pm, but the highlight of the evening is an intense 10-minute firework display as the clock strikes midnight.
