Three Thirlmere residents said to be responsible for the bushfires on Christmas Day in 2001 will face court in January on arson charges.
The charges follow dawn raids by Camden police and Strike Force Tronto at two homes near Thirlmere Lakes last week.
A 58-year-old man was charged with two counts of arson and two counts of allowing fire to escape, while his 34-year-old son was charged with four counts of arson.
Another 34-year-old man was also charged for concealing a serious offence.
Strike Force Commander, Assistant Commissioner John Laycock, said the arrests were the result of a coordinated and thorough investigation into the fires.
"Police with the assistance of the Rural Fire Service have conducted an extensive investigation into the cause of the fires. Evidence from the coronial inquiry and advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions have resulted in the charging of the three men," Assistance Commissioner Laycock said.
All threr men received bail and will appear at Picton Local Court on January 27.
