Wingecarribee Council has agreed to meet with a delegation of Medway residents before finalising its submission to the government about operations at the Medway mine.
Boral have submitted a proposal to increase coal output and stockpile coal for export runs which would lead to increased heavy vehicle traffic along Medway Road.
The council has already met with residents a number of times to outline the changes and discuss their concerns.
Glenn Corney and Greg Morrison reiterated these concerns at last week's council meeting.
Mr Corney requested that Medway Road be widened at Boral's expense and that ongoing maintenance of the road be paid for entirely by Boral
He also asked that operations at the mine only occurred within accepted limits to reduce impacts on noise, dust and water quality and that all haulage was only done on sealed roadways.
Mr Morrison asked the council to ensure noise generating activities such as loading be restricted to 7am-6pm Monday to Friday and 7am-1pm on Saturdays with no loading and haulage on Sundays and public holidays.
The council resolved to meet with residents before its July 13 general meeting when it will finalise its report.
