28 Jul, 2008 02:53 PM
MAYOR Gordon Lewis has called on council to “stick to its guns” on the leisure centre, after attending the opening of the $24 million Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre at Nowra.

In his mayoral minute to Wednesday’s council meeting, Cr Lewis said the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre was funded by a the sale of council land, developer contributions, a $3 million Commonwealth Government grant and a NSW State Government grant of $100,000.

“According to Mayor Greg Watson, the centre was completed without impacting on the delivery of its works, services or other projects during 2006 to 2008,” Cr Lewis wrote in the Mayoral minute, read by Acting Mayor Paul Tuddenham in his absence.
