Cr Jim Mauger confirmed on Friday that he would toss his hat into the ring once again.
Cr Mauger is a Robertson-based potato farmer and life-long local.
His family has farmed in Robertson since 1915.
He was first elected to council in 2004 and again in 2008.
Cr Mauger runs on a platform of transparency and his actions speak for themselves with regards to this.
He was believed to be the only sitting councillor to refuse to sign a recent confidentiality report issued by general manager Jason Gordon.
Cr Mauger also broke ranks recently, along with Cr Duncan Gair, speaking out about cost over-runs on a number of council projects, including the Robertson Sewerage Scheme.
Yet it hasn't all be smooth sailing for Cr Mauger, who has been the subject of at least one Code of Conduct matter that he has vowed to fight all the way through to the Supreme Court, if necessary, to clear his name.
This now leaves Cr Jim Clark, Cr Ken Halstead and Cr Larry Whipper as the only sitting councillors to announce whether they will contest the election on September 8.
