Man refuses to climb down from tree in Moss Vale

27 Nov, 2009 08:13 AM
AN Eden man climbed a tree near the bus stop at Leighton Gardens on Wednesday evening and refused to come down.

Bowral police were called at around 6.30pm to the main street of Moss Vale after fielding concerns from the public.

Two police rescue units were also called in to assist.

A police spokeswoman said the 39-year-old shirtless man was eventually removed from the tree by Bowral police officers with the help of police rescue personnel.

“He was taken to Campbelltown Hospital to undergo an assessment, where he currently remains,” she said.

“He wasn’t injured in the incident.”

Police are investigating allegations the man allegedly stole a car prior to climbing up the tree.
