Man dies following Bowral crash

11 Feb, 2012 07:00 AM
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after a man died from injuries sustained in a serious crash in Bowral last month.

About 5.30pm on Tuesday 31 January 2012, emergency services were called to the northbound lanes of Oxley Drive after a motorcycle left the road and hit an embankment.

The 35-year-old male rider was ejected from the motorcycle.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics took the man to Bowral Hospital for treatment to serious head and neck injuries. He was later flown to Liverpool Hospital where he died last night.

Police attached to Goulburn Local Area Command are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Anyone with information should contact Goulburn Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Where is his obituary?

You're all about being community-minded, preserving journalistic ethics and offering condolences when you rip into the city media about reporting other road deaths but you haven't even bothered naming this man.

Not only that, you don't even rewrite the police press release.

What's up with that? I don't expect to see this posted but I certainly hope this makes you think.

Dear "A. Reeder",

The police media release was published as an alert to our readers so they could be informed about what was happening.

It's difficult to have an obituary when no one has submitted one and the police have not given us a name.

Sorry, but our crystal ball broke some time ago.

And since you allude to the subject of integrity, where's yours? If you had any you would not have to hide behind a fake name and email address.

Perhaps if you had provided a real name and contact details we could contact you for more information on this man.
