Organisers of Sunday's Day on the Green concert were blessed with perfect weather for a day of picnics, wine and entertainment.
Lionel Ritchie put on a high-energy and interactive show that brought the 7500-strong crowd to their feet, at Centennial Vineyards.
The concert’s MC, Michael Newton, said the show was one of the best he had seen.
“The crowd loved it,” he said.
“Everyone was on their feet with huge smiles on their faces.
“He is such a great performer, you can't help but get excited.
“It was a fantastic day. Lionel and the band had a ball.”
People of all ages came to enjoy the show, but there was a clear favourite among the crowd.
“I think the highlight of the night was Dancing On The Ceiling, you just can't go past it, it's a classic,” Mr Newton said.
The sold-out show also featured daughter of “Barnsey”, Mahalia Barnes and Australian Idol's Marcia Hines.
Mahalia warmed up the crowd, belting out some bluesy tunes while Marcia sung all the classics.
“The performers said Centennial was the prettiest winery out of the four they have visited so far,” Mr Newton said.
“The staff at Centennial were fantastic and they really enjoyed the day too.”
Lionel has confirmed that he will definitely be back in Australia to tour next year. Public transport arrangements went off without a hitch, although some people who drove home waited up to two hours to reach one on the two venue exits.
The next Day on the Green concert will feature Jimmy Barnes himself and Joe Cocker and will be held at Centennial Viney
