Losing millions - Equine influenza hits Highlands horse industry hard

The Southern Highlands' recreation and sporting horse industry is feeling the pain of the multi-million dollar cost of the equine influenza outbreak.

Bans on the movement of horses have forced trainers, elite competitors and equestrian service providers to seek work outside the industry.

Performance horse trainer Tom Skinner said he was losing $2,500 a week in potential earnings.
