SOUTHERN Highlands residents with an eye for a fashion snapped up leading labels at the Moss Vale St Vincent de Paul shop’s annual spring fashion parade on Tuesday.
Volunteers have been busy preparing the shop and changing over the stock for the new season in preparation for the event, which is keenly looked forward to by local bargain hunters.
“We close for half a day and change over all the books, the bric-a-brac and everything,” said St Vincent de Paul area manager Glenn Bailey.
Mr Bailey said the annual fashion parade at Moss Vale and the two parades at Mittagong each year were not only fundraisers for the opportunity shops, but brought new people into the stores.
“The biggest thing I see is just the interaction of volunteers working together to change over the shop,” he said.
New or near new fashions snapped up at the Moss Vale store included labels such as Country Road, Stitches, Wombat, Rodney Clarke, Splash and upmarket children’s clothing by OshKosh B’Gosh.
Even the budget-conscious bride was catered for, with local model Brooke Eccleston modelling a dress, veil and shoes costing just $178 altogether.
