Locals lead export drive

31 Mar, 2005 03:45 PM
Minister for Small Business David Campbell has urged local businesses to consider exporting their goods and services.

Mr Campbell yesterday visited two Southern Highlands businesses which have cracked the export market, before launching an export drive for the Illawarra region.

Enretech Australasia at Moss Vale uses cotton-by-products to make environmentally friendly products to contain and clean up oil and fuel spills.

Enretech Australasia has distributors in 16 countries, including Mitsubishi Japan, Chevron-Texaco, and Shell in Asia, Oceania, Europe Africa and the Middle East.

Enretech is currently negotiating with companies in Iran, Turkey, Belgium and Ecuador.

Enretech's managing director John Giltrap said exporting had been an important step in growing the company.

"It has enabled us to increase our employment in the area and develop new skills in all facets of offshore contracts, including finances and logistics," he said.

Mr Campbell said the NSW Government had helped Enretech Australasia with export assistance to a number of countries and market visits to Japan, Korea, USA, the Middle East, Scotland and France.

The NSW Government has also helped the Bowral-based Dial M to sell its corporate training packages internationally.

Initially specialising in murder mystery nights for private social groups, Dial M has successfully diversified into organising corporate training events.
