VINEYARDS of the Southern Highlands will have the chance to showcase their product next month.

The fifth annual Southern Highlands Regional Wine Show will be conducted on October 16, 17 and 18 at Southern Highland Winery at Sutton Forest.

Show committee spokeswoman and new Southern Highland Food and Wine co-ordinator Linda Lambrechts said the prestigious event aimed to highlight the increasingly high standard of locally grown and produced wines.

She said regional wine shows were an important part of the industry.

The Southern Highlands Regional Wine Show will help local vignerons gain a better understanding of how they compare with other wine makers in the country.

Ms Lambrechts said the Highlands event would attract the expertise of some of the country’s leading wine judges including Nick Bulleid MW, Bryan Martin and Bryan Currie.

The judging of wines will be conducted on October 16 with an exhibitors and trade tasting event the following day.
