There has been unprecedented interest from people wanting to audition for the Salute to the Outback arena spectacular which will be held as part of this year's Moss Vale and District Show in March.
Producer Mark Eady from Ozworks Entertainment has told the Southern Highland News that huge numbers are wanting to audition.
"Since we've been encouraging people to register on the website www.ozworks.net to audition there has been an amazing response," Mr Eady said.
"More people have been asking to be involved than any other production I've done in the last three years."
Mr Eady said the show will be the largest theatrical production to be seen in the Southern Highlands.
"We will be having between 300 and 500 performers involved in the spectacular, whether performing or backstage," he said.
"Although the show has already been written, it remains flexible so we can interpret the material according to the gifts of people in this area.
"The majority of performers to respond to our call have been early twenties and under but we are looking for people of all ages to be involved."
Mr Eady said the spectacular would tell the story of the outback with specific reference to the Southern Highlands.
