Southern Highlands Community Hospice Committee has confirmed they have found a location to set up the Hospice Shop, a quality second hand store identified as a key ongoing fund raiser for the hospice project.

Volunteer coordinator Daphne Robertson said the committee secured Shop 18, High Street in Bowral, donated by the owner of High Street at discounted rent.

Mrs Robertson said the committee was accepting donations of items to sell including good quality, upmarket clothes, jewellery, shoes, accessories, artworks, ornament and bric a brac.

She said all donations must be the best quality and condition.

Mrs Robertson said the committee would not accept donations of furniture, electrical items, white goods or items not in good condition or of poor quality.

"We'd like to aknowledge the people that have helped by donating," she said.

The committee received donations to decorate and fit the shop from a number of people, however large framed mirrors, good quality book cases or shelfing and a sink are all still needed.

Donations can be dropped at the committee's office on level two of Springetts' Arcade until the shop opens.

The Hospice Shop is expected to open in mid to late April.
