Hockeyroos drop in for lunch

24 Nov, 2005 03:37 PM
Eight members of the Hockeyroos dropped into Bowral's Kookabar Café on Wednesday, en route to Canberra where they will take part in the Champions Trophy from November 26 to December 4.

The Champions Trophy brings together the six highest-ranked teams in women's hockey for a six-game series at the Canberra Hockey Centre in Lyneham.

"We will be competing in the Champions Trophy against China, Germany, Korea, Argentina and Holland," Hockeyroos mid-fielder Melanie Twitt said.

"It is a hotly-contested competition and we're hoping for a top three finish."

Ms Twitt said the team was expecting a challenging nine-days.

"Our toughest competition will be against Germany and Holland, who are ranked number one at the moment, and China," she said.
