Southern Highlands Christian School
student Daniel Fudge was named the Sydney Morning Herald Young Writer of the Year last week.
Daniel’s short story, And The Bond Cannot Be Broken, was chosen from entries from 11 of the best and brightest of the State’s creative minds for the prestigious award.
The story was inspired by the topical issue of drought and how it affects people.
“I was fascinated at how people could be emotionally and financially broken by something that was entirely out of their hands, like drought,” Daniel said.
Since And The Bond Cannot Be Broken was published in Spectrum on Saturday, Daniel’s phone has been ringing with congratulations from family and friends.
