The Southern Highlands is a "city on the rise" that has slowly but steadily grown into the 35th largest population centre in Australia, according to a new report.
However the same study also suggests the good times may be over, as more young people and empty-nest baby boomers opt for inner-city living.
The annual Population Growth Report was released this week by advisory and auditing firm KPMG.
