Guards protect tulips

29 Aug, 2006 03:58 PM
Private security guards have been called in to protect Corbett Gardens, following a second vandalism attack only weeks before Tulip Time.

Vandals attacked Corbett Gardens on Thursday and Sunday nights, spraying graffiti in and outside the park's toilet block and adjacent buildings.

Numerous empty alcohol bottles were strewn in and around the garden beds and vandals also trampled tulips.

Tulip Time co-ordinator Debbie Bonett said organisers had been forced to call in private security to protect the gardens in the lead up to Tulip Time.
