 From disability to possibility

From disability to possibility

28 Jun, 2002 08:23 AM

NINE Chevalier College Year 10 students were so impressed with wheelchair athlete, John Maclean, when he visited Bowral last week that they decided to help his foundation.

The students attended a breakfast with Mr Maclean.

One of those who attended, Pat Holloway, said "he is a great guy who really cares about kids in wheelchairs."

Pat was particularly impressed by his slogan "change from disability to possibility".

The nine students decided to make a collection through their home room and sent off the $235 collected to the Foundation.

The youth minister at Chevalier, Gerard Bennett, was impressed

by the response of the students

who gathered the money and by

the generosity of the students who gave.

"It's a fantastic effort, especially considering they only took two days to do it," Mr Bennett said.

"The students and their parents are always very responsive to worthwhile causes.

"The spirit of generosity and care is amazing," he said.
